Makor

In 2019, after the release of “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse”, Marvel arranged a contest for artist to create their own Spider-characters, or as we call it, “Spider-sona”. The basic idea of the contest was to turn ourselves into Spider-Man themed superheroes, our own versions of Spider-Man. The best 5 or 7 characters created by these amateur artists then Appeared in the final two issues of Marvel’s “Spider-Verse Vol. 3” (2019).

Needless to say I entered and didn’t win, but the idea never left me. I have been picking at this story and character for 3 years now. And that’s how Makor came to be.

Makor is this universe’s own Spider-themed Superhero, or in a geekier term “Spider-totem”. The origins of her power is mystical; she gained them by defeating a spider-demon and being blessed by Sumerian spider-goddess Uttu.
Otoshee is from Dhaka, is an Archeology student, and has her own rag-tag team of friends. (a lot of whom are echoes from the original Marvel universe, earth 616.)
Her powers include jumping great lengths, web-slinging, hypnotism and making portals.
There are two other Spider-totems in this universe, as well as plenty of other allies and enemies
